Tablino (8), pavimento: l’emblema (Museo Naz. di Napoli, inv. n. 9986) che appariva circondato da un ricco motivo a meandro (cfr. fig. 34), presenta una scena di allestimento teatrale cui si vuol riferire il nome della casa. La scena vede al centro, seduto, un poeta o corego che prepara gli attori ad una rappresentazione, varie maschere accennano all'apparecchio scenico, alcuni personaggi sono già vestiti, altri nell'atto di prepararsi, il tibicine accorda lo strumento e due attori indossano una pelle animale; lo zoccolo nero delimita le pareti gialle divise in scomparti. Il mosaico, forse riferibile ad un modello ellenistico, appartiene alla fase più antica della casa. Fine I sec. a.C. Diap. AFSN s.n

Tablinum (8), floor: the emblem (National Museum of Naples, inv. n. 9986) which appeared to be surrounded by a rich meander motif (see fig. 34), presents a scene of theatrical staging to which the name of the house refers. The scene sees in the centre, seated, a poet or chorego who prepares the actors for a performance, various masks hint at the stage apparatus, some characters are already dressed, others in the act of getting ready, the tibicine tunes the instrument and two actors wear an animal skin; the black plinth delimits the yellow walls divided into compartments. The mosaic, perhaps referable to a Hellenistic model, belongs to the oldest phase of the house. end of the first century B.C. slide AFSN s.n
